Refund policy
(Right of Withdrawal – Directive 2011/83/EU)
1. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU and applicable Italian legislation, if the customer qualifies as a consumer (i.e., a natural person purchasing goods for personal use and not for professional purposes, therefore not providing a VAT number during checkout), they have the right to withdraw from the purchase contract without providing any reason and without penalty, except as specified below.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which the customer receives the goods.
2. How to Exercise the Right of Withdrawal
To exercise the right of withdrawal, the customer must:
- Submit a return request within 14 days from receipt of the goods using our official “Return Form”.
- Wait for Return Authorization instructions from our Customer Service.
- Ship the goods within 48 hours from receiving the Return Authorization.
Returns sent without prior authorization may be refused.
3. Conditions for Return
The right of withdrawal is subject to the following mandatory conditions:
Product Integrity
- The return must concern the entire product purchased.
- The glasses must be returned complete in all their parts, including:
- Original case
- Outer packaging
- Authenticity certificate (where applicable)
- Informational booklets
- Protective elements
- Original barcode sticker and product identification labels
- All original accessories supplied
The product must be in perfect condition.
To protect the original case and packaging, we strongly recommend placing them inside a secondary protective shipping box. Adhesive tape or shipping labels must not be applied directly to the original packaging.
If parts are missing or the packaging is damaged beyond normal inspection handling, Megavision Srl reserves the right to deduct up to 10% of the product value from the refund.
Shipping Costs
All return shipping costs are entirely at the customer’s expense.
Until confirmed delivery at our premises, the goods remain under the full responsibility of the customer.
Megavision Srl is not responsible for damage, loss, or theft of uninsured return shipments.
If the returned goods are damaged during transport, Megavision Srl will notify the customer within 5 working days from receipt, allowing the customer to file a claim with the courier (if insured). In this case, the withdrawal request will be cancelled and the product will be made available to the customer.
Customs Duties – Returns from Outside the European Union
For customers returning goods from outside the European Union, the customer is fully responsible for:
- Shipping fees
- Insurance (strongly recommended)
- Customs duties
- Import taxes
- Any clearance or re-entry charges required to return the goods to Italy (our headquarters)
Important – Non-EU customers:
Our shipping department will not accept any return shipment subject to unpaid customs duties, taxes, or additional charges.
If the parcel arrives with duties or fees to be paid, it will be refused and returned to the sender.
Customers located outside the European Union are therefore strongly advised to ship returns using a service that fully prepays all customs charges and includes appropriate insurance.
4. Prescription Lenses
Frames fitted with prescription lenses are custom-made according to the customer’s personal specifications.
For this reason, glasses equipped with prescription lenses are considered fully customized products and are excluded from the right of withdrawal and refund.
In specific cases, only upon prior agreement with the customer and at Megavision Srl’s sole discretion, it may be possible to refund the cost of the frame only, excluding the prescription lenses, which remain strictly non-refundable.
5. Refund Procedure
If all return conditions are met and the product shows no damage beyond normal inspection, Megavision Srl will refund:
- The product price only
Shipping costs and prescription lenses are excluded from the refund.
Refunds will be processed as quickly as possible after verification of the returned goods.
6. Cancellation After Shipment
Once the order has been dispatched and handed over to the courier, it is no longer possible to cancel the order.
If the customer decides not to keep the product after shipment, the customer must accept delivery and then exercise the right of withdrawal following the official return procedure described above.
Refusing or denying the parcel at delivery does not constitute a valid exercise of the right of withdrawal and does not entitle the customer to an automatic refund.
If a parcel is refused and returned to us, any additional shipping, return, storage, or customs costs will be deducted from any eventual refund, where applicable.
7. Non-Compliance with Return Procedure
If the customer does not follow the authorized return procedure, Megavision Srl reserves the right to:
- Refuse the return
- Send the package back to the customer
- Charge the customer for any additional shipping or related expenses
8. Sustainability Commitment
All glasses sold on giarre.com are ordered directly from the manufacturers, ensuring that each frame is brand new, authentic, and never previously tried on.
